Additions

  • 5 new events to find (1 extra spooky).
  • Total 11 new unique illustrations.
  • New simple animation loops (3 pieces).
  • Autosave feature (found in save menu).

Bugs fixed

  • Game shouldn't get stuck when player enter their name anymore.
  • Game shouldn't crash right at the start (reduced initial load, may still have issues later on, activate autosave if you have issues)
  • Game shouldn't end before seeing all events.

Major issues with unity, engine change, patrons' will.

Beyond Unity's crazy recent drama, using it for this project has been rather troublesome in general, and recently I learnt of a major issue.

First, I noticed ram usage kept growing as I played (uh-oh)...
I tried using the commands that should clear assets from ram, but it didn't work (big uh-oh!)...
Then I learned that the VN engine I'm using (Naninovel) is unable to unload assets due to a recent bug (?) in Unity, that Unity devs are unwilling to fix (MASSIVE uh-oh).
This sounds like a critical issue that will eventually make the game unplayable.

So, I'll have to rebuild it in Ren'py!
As far as I know, it should make the game playable on PC, Mac, Android, Linux and perhaps even on a web browser! All without issues (I'd hope).

It'll take a lot of time and effort, but considering all of your kind messages so far, I believe this project has potential, so I'll start the conversion in November 2023.
